Is Your Knitwear Dakar Influenced?

It's an important question. Italian fashion house Missoni guarantee us that their new season's knitwear certainly is.

The Missoni brand might not be as well-known among the proles as Italian heavyweights Armani or Versace, but Missoni is top table clobber for the discerning fashionista. And, the family has motorcycle nuts running right through it. The second generation Mr Missoni, the late Vittorio, was an off-road rider and sponsor of Dakar racers, and the current generation, young Ottavio Missoni, is no lesser of a two wheel fiend and has competed in at least two Snow Quakes (see his bike-heavy instagram feed at @ottaviomissoni)

The collection, for Spring 2019, is, we're told, inspired by the first Dakar Rally, of the late-Seventies, with 'racing flag-inspired checks' and 'pants and shorts crafted in leather, which was hand-painted to obtain faded effects'.

Expect to pay £230 for a T-shirt and £1100 for a night cardigan. I'm size medium if anyone wants to treat me.
