    During the lifespan of Sideburn I've become friendly with Gar Wood, son on Ron. I've met him in America and also in the UK, when he's been touring with the band he's in, Hot Snakes.     New York Short Track Thoughts

    I'm not sure how long I can keep this up. I watched all the practice, qualifying, heats and semis, then fell asleep for an hour after setting my alarm for 2am. Ugh. There were no Production Twins at the NY ST, so the extra class was the Bultaco Invitational. It was won by Charlie Roberts, one of the main men behind the Rookies Class of 79 charity, that raises funds for injured flat trackers.     AFT Super Twins: The Proposal

    At a recent American Flat Track (AFT) advisory group meeting* a radical change for the future of the sport was tabled and discussed. The idea is for the current Twins class to be renamed Super Twins and to be a 'closed shop' for 16 'star' riders, who will have guaranteed entry to the main at every round. The idea is to promote a roster of stars the series can promote and then guarantee (barring injury), that if a fan turns up to see Brandon Robinson, that he's going to be in

    Lima Half-Mile Thoughts

    This is a little bit later than usual for a couple of reasons, but I saw this race live in the flesh, having flown out to the Midwest and driven for hours on end to follow the fortunes of Red Torpedo-sponsored riders, Jared Mees and Shayna Texter.
