Krowdrace 2021: Update

News from Germany. The following is chopped out of their press release.

For the coming season, the two organisers Hermann Köpf and Martin Hüning are planning four races: 'We are very pleased to have found two more speedway clubs as partners, MC Meißen and MSC Mulmshorn, who are open-minded about the still young flat track motorsport. We are expecting similar Covid-19 conditions as last year with limited spectator numbers, but of course the joy of being able to run one of the most up-and-coming flat track leagues in Europe outweighs that," said Köpf.

"For the first time this season, we would also like to offer the youngsters the opportunity to get a taste of flat track in their own children's and youth classes and to get to know this unconventional and familiar scene. We are also particularly looking forward to the new electric Flat Tracker class," explains Martin Hüning, adding that "they will certainly set new standards in terms of acceleration and speed – not to mention the new, silent possibilities in motorsport."

With the Black Forest electric motorbike manufacturer POHLBOCK and TREVOR from Belgium, two electric teams each are already at the start, and talks are currently being held with other manufacturers. Köpf: "We are very pleased that more and more industry partners recognise KROWDRACE as an honest and exciting platform and want to present their products in authentic scenery."

The KROWDRACE events will take place on four weekends, each with a training day and a race day, which will be held according to the specifications of the DMSB in cooperation with the partner clubs. Participants only need a day licence (Racecard 19 EUR), which can be easily purchased via the DMSB app. For beginners who want to do their first laps in the NEWBIE class, the technical entry hurdles are low – only the front brake has to be removed and a chain guard must be fitted. In the faster classes, 19-inch tyres with special flat track tread and an emergency stop rip cord are compulsory.

If the European Covid-19 situation allows, the English DTRA (Dirt Track Riders Association) will hold its third and thus final round of the "European Championship" at the last KROWDRACE CUP round on 25-26 September in Nordhastedt. Spectacular races with fast riders from all over Europe will fight for the title in the PRO, VINTAGE and HOOLIGAN classes.

The series is supported by headline sponsor, Indian Motorcycle.
