Kati's Ocho

Kati Dalek is a superb photographer from Germany, and also one of the countless lovely people involved in this scene. She was bitten by the flat track bug after photographing races across Europe and ended up buying this vintage Honda racer after photographing it. We saw this photo of it hibernating before the European race season starts, and asked if we could post it. Kati told us:

'Ocho (meaning 8) is a 1979 Honda XL500S with a vintage plastic Fantic trial tank, a homemade stainless steel exhaust, forks from a Yamaha R6, newly built 19-inch wheels. Front was from a BMW F650, rear built on an original SL500 drum brake hub. The rear section and seat pad are self-made.

It was built by mastermind Vulture Moto.'

We featured a portfolio of Kati Dalek's photography in Sideburn 46. It's available as an individual back issue or as a three-issue bargain bundle. Head to sideburn.bigcartel.com
