DTRA Round 2: Predictions

Guest blog from Max Inman with his predictions for the Indian Motorcycle DTRA Round 2, Greenfield Dirt Track Oval.

Unfortunately, due to the weather, the Pro and Hooligan classes were cancelled at King’s Lynn’s night race. However, the forecast is looking great for Round Two at Greenfield this weekend.

Here are my predictions for the DTRA Pro, Hooligan and Thunderbike classes.

Pro

1. #11 Gary Birtwistle

2. #20 Toby Hales

3. #93 Jack Bell

I'm choosing Gary Birtwistle to take the top spot in the Pro class. The Dirt Craft school owner will be racing a 450 in the Pro class, and the Royal Enfield Twin FT in the new Twins class. I'm going for local lad Toby Hales, in second, and young star Jack Bell, who is also racing in the Hooligan class, in third.

Hooligan

1. #38 George Pickering

2. #93 Jack Bell

3. #704 Jake Young

Even though he'll have a lot on his mind, I have to choose track owner, George Pickering, for the win on the Indian Motorcycle FTR1200. I'm predicting a big Saturday for Jack Bell, with two podiums, taking second on the Devitt Insurance x Vanoni Moto Ducati Scrambler. Rounding out the Hooligan podium I have Stockwell Designs rider, Jake Young, on the Harley Davidson Sportster.

Thunderbike

1. #134 Chris Jenner

2. #18 Jon Bell

3. #147 Gareth Williamson

Of the three classes I predicted before Round 1, the Thunderbikes were the only one to survive the reschedule. My predictions were 1. Bell 2. Jenner 3. Newsham. Newsham was a no show, because of engine problems. A number of the top hooligans gained entries for the Thunderbike class, putting the cat among the pigeons, but Jenner won, with Jake Young second on the Sportster and George Pickering third on the big Indian. If the Hooligans hadn't race, Bell would've been second and James Smith third.

For Greenfield, I think championship leader, Chris Jenner will get the win, with Jon Bell in second and Gareth Williamson claiming his first Thunderbike podium in third.
