Biltwell Frijole 883

Our good friends at Biltwell thought they'd enter a Harley Sportster 883 in the NORRA Mexican 1000 Desert Race. Why? Why not? They're a chopper company, but nearly everyone who works there also rides dirt bikes, of various ages, XR400s being big favourites. They regularly mess about at dirt track too, going on race schools together.

Anyway, with the help of their in-house mechanic, and adventure mobile fiend, Rouser Rob, they've made a monster and called it Frijole - Mexican for bean. We hope to get a feature on the bike after the race.

If you vaguely recall the name Rouser Rob, it's because we featured his Buell-powered Bobblie (the name Dave Skooter Farm gave bobbers on knobblies), way back in Sideburn 4.

We also covered Julian Heppekausen's success in the race on a 1960s Triumph TR6C in Sideburn 27.

The race starts today. Good luck Team Biltwell.
