Our man Dave Skooter Farm has been working on a feature-length documentary about his friend, employer and band leader, Frank Sidebottom (aka Chris Sievey) for a couple of years now and it's about to get it's world premier at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.
This is a big deal for the movie and all involved, and even more so now the film's been bumped up the schedule to one of the prime festival locations.
Good luck to all involved. We can't wait to see it.

Below is the late Frank Sidebottom in action. If you think it looks familiar, but you'd never heard of this very British act, it's because Jon Ronson (author, screenwriter, journalist, podcaster) was also in Frank's backing band for a time and wrote a fictional film, also called Frank, about a band led by a papier-mache headed singer, played by Michael Fassbender and co-starring Domhnall Gleeson and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Though there are striking similarities, the Ronson film is fiction, and the new documentary is about the man, the head, the act, the influence and the legacy..
