The Biltwell 100 is a Southern Californian desert race that promises good times, not lap times. This film, with a lot of onboard filmed from an XT500, shows sections of the 25-mile track and it looks a lot of fun, if a bit challenging for some of the novice off-road riders. But if you don't try, you'll never learn.

The variety of machinery is wild, and we have featured the Biltwell 100 in SB45 and a couple of the gorgeous and rugged 1930s and 40s Harley flatheads that raced last year, in Sideburn 49 (see below).

It doesn't get much more old school in the world of 2023 pro flat track than Sammy Halbert racing an XR750. One of the older riders in the series, Sammy only competes at selected rounds, choosing the short tracks, and is racing the Dodge Brothers XR750 at Ventura, CA, today.

There are 21 SuperTwins entries, with six different manufacturers in the mix, aiming to make the 18-rider main.

Estenson Yamaha's Dallas Daniels leads the championship from reigning champ, Jared Mees, who got his second win of the season at the previous round, the Devil's Bowl Speedway.

Practice is scheduled for 3.15 local time, with opening ceremonies for the evening programme set for 6.30. The regular SuperTwins and Singles classes are supported by Royal Enfield's Build.Train.Race and a hooligan class.

You can watch the race on FansChoice.tv
