Trackmaster KX500

When the Cosmic Cowboy died - after a long and interesting life - he left a Trackmaster chassis to his younger friend and roadtrip partner, Travis Newbold.

After a few months of contemplation, Travis built it up with a frankly deranged KX500 two-stroke engine in it, made a homemade expansion chamber (that looks like a snake that's just eaten a pig) and took it racing. We have the wonderful story of lost mentors and wild strokers in Sideburn 54.

Travis also writes a regular column on workshop tips for Sideburn and is our official poet. He runs Newbold's Motorbike Shop in Mack, Colorado.
