SOLD: 1974 Yamaha Staracer

Reader ad

Frame built in 70s by Staracer in Kansas.

The frame was imported by me 4 years ago. The engine is a 1974 MX360 that has been fully rebuilt and set up on the dyno.

Exhaust is by Mike Ashby (not show because it's being ceramic-coated). It’s running a 34mm carb and heavier flywheel to make the power delivery less peaky but gives the option to increase power if desired.

Forks are Ceriani 35mm that have been professionally rebuilt with re chromed legs.

Front wheel is a spool type laced with SS spokes and SS rim.

Rear hub is a modern hub that’s been polished and laced with SS spokes and rims.

Tank and seat unit where imported from America (tank has been coated) and sprayed by Paint by Matt

Rear brake is a CRF450 item allowing parts to be easily accessible.

Bike has been ridden over a season before the frame was powder coated. The bikes was built to be ridden, the clutch lever is a Renthal Intellilever, the chain sprockets are modern KTM items and brake pads are CRF 450. These can all be sourced from most bike shops same day.

The bike races is Vintage 2 stroke (pre 75) in the DTRA.
