CFTA is now Western Flat Track and still headed by Sideburn contributor, Randy Kremlacek. This is their 2018 schedule. For more info and to enter, go to westernflattrack.com
Feb. 18th: Big Time Speedway 1/8 mile cushion: This track is a racer favorite and a great way to kick off the new season (even if there is a hangover or two).
Apr. 21st: Salinas, Zaden Florez Tribute Race, 1/2 Mile TT: We are honored to have been asked by the Florez Family to have this event as a tribute to their son. The support of the flat track community has been overwhelming. Some of the special things planned are:
Northern California Motorcycle Clubs organizing rides to this event
A special team endurance race, where riders will pit and change riders in the middle of the race. More detail$ to follow.
June 30th: Santa Rosa Short Track: This event was a huge success in 2016 and it should be a special event this year too.
July 14th: Humboldt Half Mile: This event has all the makings of a classic. Cory Rich built an epic race track and we had a huge fan turnout. We have plans for a custom bike show and a local casino will a sponsor and race headquarters. Our goal is 150 entries and a spectator sellout.
Aug. 25th: Carson City Short Track: Sell out crowds, huge rider turnout and always a new theme. This year is the "Pro Deuce Invitational" where eight pro riders will battle for the crown, elimination style. $5,000 in purse money. And yes, this is in addition to the regular purse of $5,000.
Sept 7th: Kings Speedway, Hanford, 1/4 mile: This will be our wildest event of the year. Combine Super Hooligans and the World Surfing League. What? The WSL is bringing a round of their international surf competition to Surf Ranch at Lemoore. Roland Sands Design is bringing the Super Hooligans. And WFT brings it's series show and makes it all happen. It should be a helluva hullabaloo.
