Your nose is longer than a telephone wire

I can't believe I have never posted this before. This is one of my favourite garage tunes, and it's rare to find footage of these lesser known '60s bands playing the songs from those eras, especially not with go-go accompaniment. Liar, Liar was recorded by Minnesota band, The Castaways, in 1965. A local hit first, like many US pop songs back then, it grew to reach number 12 in the Billboard charts, and was a textbook one-hit wonders.

This recording is from the B-movie, It's a Bikini World. According to Wikipedia, a pro-feminist film from the genre that was totally played out by the time it was eventually released in 1967, two years after the Liar Liar.

The song also featured in Animal House, Good Morning Vietnam and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. It was also covered by Debbie Harry for 1988 comedy Married to the Mob (not her greatest moment).

The dancer is Carolyn Brandt, who was married to the late, Z movie film director, Ray Dennis Steckler, who made The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed Up Zombies.
