    I'm not a graphic designer, and I really wish I knew my way around Photoshop and Illustrator. Instead, I sketch stuff and ask designers to sort my ideas out for me. Sometimes it's a magazine feature layout I have a particular idea for, or a T-shirt, or, in this case, the skate decks we've been making. The idea of Sideburn skate decks came from Paul Hartman. His Racewear and Triumph hooligan were featured in Sideburn 38. He works for a skateboard manufacturer in Southern Calif

    Paul's AJS

    We featured amateur racer, Paul Hartman's Racewear and his gorgeous Triumph Hooligan in Sideburn 38. Last week we discovered he'd built this AJS and asked him to give us some details. He certainly has a knack for building bikes with a nice stance. This is what he could tell us about his latest Brit. It's a 1948 AJS Model 18 with some evolution of '50s and '60s tricks. I wish I knew the whole story on this one, because I'm sure it would be good. It was owned by a fellow up in

    'I Won Fisher's AFT Bike!'

    We featured Paul Hartman's Racewear and his supercool Triumph Bonneville hooligan racer in Sideburn 38 and saw he had a new firebreathing bike so asked for the story on it.     Terry Poovey: Astrodome 1983

    This amateur film from the 1983 GNC season opener is something else. It was filmed by a friend or family member of local Texan Terry Poovey. Poovey was national number 18 from 1977 to 2007! The factory Honda rider, Poovey is the star of the show and his ride in the main has to be seen to be believed. The film shows his qualifying race, a semi, I think, for the main.
