Gorillaz on a Honda 200

Gorillaz is the multimedia music project, that formed in 2000, famously headed up by Blur's frontman Damon Albarn. Though they perform live gigs, I saw them headline the O2 Arena, they keep up the pretence of a group of cartoon characters being the band. The characters were created by Tank Girl illustrator Jamie Hewlett.

Musically, the band are hard to define. This tune is mellow pop, and features Joy Division and New Order bassist Peter Hook. Others are harder hip-hop, trip-hop, and a bit of indie dance (check out the collaboration with The Happy Mondays' Shaun Ryder - Dare). The visuals are always wonderfully trippy, with accurate depictions of clothing and hardwear, mixed with the cartoon physiognomies of the bandmates - 2-D, Murdoc, Noodle and Russell.

Anyway, I'm sharing this because 2-D and Murdoc are riding around Morocco, it looks like Marrakech, on a Honda 200 of some description, while Noodle is driving a Manx dune buggy and Russell is in a golf cart. Well worth five minutes of your time. GI
