Iron & Resin International Harvester Scout

March 7, 2018

California-based clothing and lifestyle brand (and stockists of Sideburn), Iron and Resin have collaborated with New Legend to build this tasty fun hauler.

It's based on a 1972 International Harvester Scout II. I'd never heard of International Harvester before, so I did some cursory digging. They were a manufacturer of agricultural machinery and trucks, founded in 1902, from the merger of a number of smaller manufacturers. They built trucks from 1907 and the Scout and Scout II were made from 1961 to 1980, at a factory in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The company went out of business in the mid-'80s.

This re-imagined Scout has a modern Chevy-based 5.3-litre V8; is trimmed with the fabrics that Iron and Resin use in some of their clothing, is fitted with that neat RakAttach swingaway bike rack and the Front Runner Outfitters roof rack and a roof tent.

It's for sale for $62,000.
