Sideburn Adventures

Sideburn first started offering trips in 2016, when we launched our Sideburn Sahara adventure tours to Morocco. Since then we have organised another eight trips to the North African biking playground, including three women-only groups.

Soon after our first Moroccan success we began organising Himalayan trips to India's Pangi Valley, and then added Nepal.

For 2024 we have tours scheduled to Nepal and the new to us destination of Rajasthan, India.

We partner with long-established, well-respected tour companies to offer the very best experiences. All trips are now mixed (no women-only trips are currently planned), and a Sideburn representative accompanies the group on every one of our adventures.

Rajasthan, India

DATE OF NEXT TOUR: 10-19 March 2024

STATUS: Last places remaining

Brand new for 2024. Sideburn editor, Gary Inman, did the recce in early 2023 and was blown away by the accommodation, landscape and history of the region. We had to offer this one to our readers.

Fly into and out of Delhi, then ride through Rajasthan, visiting the incredible cities of Jaipur and Jaiselmer, staying in former palaces and one night under the stars in the Thar Desert.  Then jump on the overnight sleeper train from Jodphur (another night you'll never forget...).

The riding is mainly a mix of tarmac and easy trail, but there are a handful of tricky sections with deep sand that require a confident rider, with some off-road experience.

Tour of Manang, Nepal

29 SEPTEMBER - 8 OCTOBER 2024

Leave the capital, Kathmandu, heading out towards Annapurna for a 10-day trip with seven days riding. The accommodation is a mixture of classy hotels and very simple, rural homestays (bed and breakfasts) where we support the local community.
After a day of relaxed sightseeing at UNESCO World Heritage sites in Kathmandu, the riding starts with intense traffic in the city, followed by near deserted trails with vertigo-inducing drops along the Manang Highway (it is not a highway...).

Some off-road experience is useful. Good bike handling skills are essential.
