Following on from our news about Lelystad Dirt Track's new owner (read the interview here), Lelystad are relaunching with a bang.
Working with Gille (of The Roadshow) and Sideburn 53 fame, the Dutch track is putting on a rider coaching day with Jeffrey Carver on Friday, then full day practices Saturday and Sunday.

This is Gille, on the Champion Triumph we have featured in Sideburn 53.

That coaching day with Jeffrey Carver sounds like an absolute steal — the guy's lines and body positioning are on another level, so getting that insight before a weekend of practice laps at Lelystad is a proper once-in-a-lifetime chance for European riders. Speaking of capturing moments, I've been messing around with that low quality image maker lately for some fake old-school race photos — it's a fun way to make your garage shots look like they're from a 70s dirt track magazine. Anyway, hope the weather holds for the relaunch weekend, the Dutch flat track scene deserves a solid kickstart like this.
That's a proper dream weekend for any flat track fan. Riding coach from Carver then just practicing all weekend at Lelystad? Sign me up! Smash Fest
Awesome write-up — the Lelystad flat track vibe really comes through. Also handy for anyone recording race-day interviews or bike notes: WhisperWeb is a private in-browser speech-to-text tool that transcribes audio locally without uploading it.
It is wonderful to see local students learning about traditional industries like somen production. Just as these children practiced the patience required for noodle making, I find that a relaxing session of 麻雀ゲーム helps me stay sharp. Both traditions require a great deal of skill, focus, and appreciation for the process.
Man, that sounds like an awesome weekend. Jeffrey Carver coaching on a Friday then just ripping laps all weekend? Sign me up. Riddle School
